In the metropolitan city of Genoa, our company has supplied and installed a new FIBA-approved removable floor for the basketball club based at the RDS Stadium.

The facility, previously known as Mazda Palace, Vaillant Palace and 105 Stadium, is one of the main multipurpose buildings in Genoa, designed by Emilio Morasso and inaugurated in 2003.

Able to host up to 5,500 spectators, this facility is the perfect example of an industrial site being converted into a space for sporting events.

The original external structure dating back to the 1970s has been kept intact, but inside we find modern spaces, logistically and architecturally optimized. A striking example are the high-tech, retractable telescopic grandstands that enable a shift in capacity from around 5,000 seats for sporting events and shows to a maximum capacity of around 7,300 spectators for major events.

Inside, RDS Stadium also houses the Virgin Active Center which occupies over 5,000 square meters, equipped with a gym with the latest generation of modern equipment.

At the RDS Stadium 6 years ago, our removable black floor dedicated exclusively to futsal was installed. One of our technicians comments: “Extremely satisfying for our company, which has given its best as always, in realizing this new creation … a top level and quality FIBA-approved removable floor exclusively for basketball, with FIBA’s light blue colors contrasting with the red of the seats in the grandstands, the result was always going to be wonderful”.
